Managing Research Papers Made Easy
PaperShip is a tool that would help you manage the routine that there is to teaching and research. It’s your on-the-go annotation and reading tool that lets you access your Zotero and Mendeley library.
Working Mechanism
PaperShip is a research library manager that offers access to everything stored inside Mendeley and Zotero libraries. To append fresh references, the tool also directly imports from the web, downloading automatically when complete text PDFs become available. The PDFs could be highlighted and annotated, and later stored back in the library with the changes made. Annotated documents could also be shared through text messages, email, Twitter and Facebook. PaperShip is quite quick and reliable for everyday use. The setup is quite easy – you just have to type in your Mendeley or Zotero username and password. Also, you may choose to download the entire library or papers, or download them individually to your device.
Altmetrics
Perhaps, the most unique and interesting feature of PaperShip is the web-based metrics it offers, called altmetrics. The metric accounts online activities relating to scholarly work, which includes keeping count of the total number of times a paper was downloaded. PaperShip also helps measure literature not reviewed by peers, which includes Open Access publications. Altmetric’s donut-shaped graphic is attached to the interface for such requirements. Long story short, if you use PaperShip the way you should, it would most probably become your daily app for managing, reading and annotating your research library.
